What is a Cardiac MRI?
A Cardiac MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create highly detailed images of the heart and surrounding blood vessels.

What to Expect During the Test
- Your child will lie on a comfortable table that slides into the MRI scanner.
- The scanner is open at both ends and does not touch the child.
- Depending on the child’s age and degree of cooperation, the test may require light sedation or anesthesia to help them stay still.
- The scan typically takes between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the complexity.
- In some cases, a safe contrast dye may be used to enhance image clarity.
