One-on-One ABA Therapy Sessions
One-on-One ABA Therapy Sessions
Helping Children Thrive Through Consistent, Individualized Care

At KidsHeart Medical Center Abu Dhabi, our Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy program offers structured, one-on-one support for children facing developmental and behavioral challenges.
Using evidence-based methods, our behavior therapists design programs that strengthen communication, self-regulation,
daily living, and social interaction. Each session is built around the child’s unique needs and adapted as they grow. Learn more about our ABA therapy services here.
Our goal is to support both the child and the family — providing calm, consistent guidance that builds meaningful progress over time.

What Is One-on-One ABA Therapy?
One-on-one ABA therapy focuses on changing behaviors by understanding what causes them, what reinforces them, and how new skills can replace unhelpful patterns.
Therapy sessions are guided by clear goals, data tracking, and positive reinforcement techniques. These may target:
- Expressive and receptive communication (spoken language, gestures, AAC use)
- Social skills like eye contact, sharing, and turn-taking
- Adaptive skills such as toileting, dressing, eating, or transitions
- Attention span, task completion, and school-readiness behaviors
- Emotional regulation and managing frustration or anxiety
This individualized model gives children the opportunity to practice and repeat skills in a safe, supportive environment.
Group ABA Therapy Sessions
In addition to one-on-one sessions, we also offer a small group ABA therapy. Group sessions provide children with the opportunity to generalize their learned skills in a dynamic, peer-based environment.
Each group typically includes 2–4 children who share similar social goals, allowing for targeted social learning and meaningful peer interaction.
Therapists facilitate structured social and behavioral learning opportunities, including:
• Peer interaction and cooperative play
• Following group instructions and transitioning between activities
• Turn-taking, problem-solving, and shared tasks
• Practicing communication in natural social settings
Group sessions promote generalization, flexibility, and real-world application of individualized skills all within a supportive, therapist-guided environment.
When Should You Consider ABA Therapy?
ABA therapy may be appropriate for children who:
- Have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis
- Show delays in speech, social interaction, or play skills
- Engage in repetitive movements or rigid behaviors
- Struggle with transitions or sensory regulation
- Need help mastering basic routines and self-care tasks
- Have behavioral challenges that affect daily functioning
It can also be valuable for children without a formal diagnosis who need structured, consistent behavioral support.
